FOLDA
Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject
ourselves,
or we know where we can find information upon it.
Samuel Johnson (Boswell's Life of Johnson) April

The Friends of Libraries for Deaf Action (FOLDA) was founded in 1986 by
Alice L. Hagemeyer with her volunteers at the D.C. Public Library.
The FOLDA mission is to promote library access and quality library resources
for the deaf community globally.
To help carry out the FOLDA mission, The Red Notebook has been developed
as a starting point for libraries to look up information regarding the deaf
community and library services.
For those libraries that do not have the copy yet, there is an application form
available in the Key Contacts Section.
To create a size that fits all, please follow Directions
(1-page PDF document).
Thank you again for your help to promote the FOLDA
mission.
From the FOLDA Staff
We are often considered society’s gatekeepers, but librarians
are actually the gateways. We are the one profession dedicated to ensuring
the right to know.
